Moovit

The standard public transportation application. Its ads are annoying, but there is nothing better. Set it up so you can also pay for the transportation through the app, since Israel has moved to a smart-card system that is only available at certain locations.

Google Maps AND Waze

Waze works much better in Israel than Google Maps for driving, but it has no features for walking. Google Maps is needed if you're walking somewhere - and Israel is a great place to walk.
